Knox Funeral Home is a family-owned and operated funeral home, located at 325 Knox Street, Barbourville, Kentucky. Our story began on February 18, 1990, when Walter C. "Tub" Hopper Jr., along with his two sons, Joe and David, founded our funeral home. As one of the only licensed funeral directors and embalmers to fully own and operate a family funeral home in Barbourville, we are committed to providing personal, quality services at affordable prices.

Our History

For almost a century, the traditional funeral service has consisted of families honoring and memorializing the life of a loved one with a visitation at a funeral home, followed by a religious-based memorial service at a funeral home chapel or religious sanctuary, and then a graveside service. However, we know that times are changing, and so are the needs of our families. That's why we have expanded our services to include cremation and memorialization options. Choosing cremation over traditional burial or entombment is a trend that is becoming more popular in the United States every year.
