CATSS Counseling and Therapeutic Support Services is a dedicated mental health practice located in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Our team of experienced therapists is committed to providing comprehensive mental health services to individuals and families at all stages of life. We specialize in working with individuals who have experienced complex trauma, chronic PTSD, disordered eating, autism spectrum disorders, and other challenges.
  • Family Psychotherapy: We believe that families can be a powerful force for healing and growth, and we offer family therapy sessions to help families navigate difficult situations and strengthen their relationships. Our therapists utilize evidence-based interventions to facilitate positive communication, conflict resolution, and emotional expression.
  • Specialty Areas: Our team of therapists has a wide range of expertise in addressing a variety of mental health challenges, including complex trauma, chronic PTSD, disordered eating, autism spectrum disorders, play therapy, relationship struggles, grief and loss, spiritual abuse, parenting issues, and LGBTQI+ concerns.
  • Supervision and Training: CATSS is committed to supporting the next generation of mental health practitioners. We offer clinical supervision to training mental health practitioners, as well as psychoeducational training to other professionals who interact with children and families struggling with mental health difficulties.

Meet Our Therapists

Our team of therapists is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to our clients. Our therapists bring a wealth of experience and expertise to our practice, and we are dedicated to ongoing professional development to ensure that we are providing the most effective care possible.

Katie MW Barrett, MA LMFT, C-AIRN: Katie is the practice owner and clinical director at CATSS. She specializes in working with young adults aged 18-30 who are struggling with complex trauma, chronic PTSD, housing and food instability, un/under-employment, and complicated family dynamics. Katie utilizes a holistic approach to therapy that incorporates psychoeducation, building self-awareness, developing personal coping and problem-solving skills, and exploring the impact of early childhood relationships and experiences.

Lindsey Weber, MA Pre-Licensed Professional: Lindsey is a pre-licensed professional working under the supervision of Katie Barrett. She provides a warm, supportive, and collaborative environment for clients to explore their thoughts, beliefs, and patterns that may no longer serve them. Lindsey specializes in working with parents who are seeking to strengthen their connection with their child, and incorporates child development research, parenting practices, and therapeutic intervention in her sessions.

Briana Freeberg (Rynerson) MA LMFT: Briana is a licensed marriage and family therapist and board-approved supervisor who specializes in working with those struggling with disordered eating and fostering a healthy relationship with their body. She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults with anxiety, depression, disordered eating, autism, and trauma. Briana utilizes Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy to empower clients to come to their own solutions and improve their overall quality of life.

Samantha Morgan-O'Rourke MA LMFT: Samantha is a licensed marriage and family therapist and board-approved supervisor with over 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families in a variety of settings. She specializes in grief and loss, spiritual abuse, shame, perfectionism, anger, and strong couple relationships. Samantha is committed to encouraging parents as they develop strategies for a healthy family.

Kari Vacinek MSW LICSW: Kari is a licensed independent clinical social worker who works with children aged 4 and up, teens, and adults. She specializes in anxiety and depression, PTSD, ADD and ADHD, adjustment disorders, bipolar disorder, recovery from trauma, grief and loss, disenfranchised grief, and self-esteem issues.
