Our Services

We are a multidisciplinary firm organized into four design studios: Retail + Commercial, Education + Civic, Senior Living + Wellness, and Residential + Mixed Use. This allows us to cater to a wide range of clients and projects, from shopping malls and urban infill projects to multifamily housing and memory care residences.

Our Locations

We serve California and the western United States through three offices in Southern, Northern, and Central California. Our offices are located in the heart of three very different cities, allowing us to understand and cater to the unique needs of each region. Because we live in the neighborhoods we serve, we feel personally connected to our work through the lives of our families and neighbors.

SGPA was founded in 1969 when Donald Schoell, Eugene Geritz, Robert Paul, and Arthur Allard merged their architectural practices to form a new entity. Since opening our doors, we've designed an integral part of the Southern California and Bay Area landscape, providing places for thousands of people to live, learn, shop, eat, play, and heal.
