At Hunter Mechanical, we are a family-owned and operated business with a rich history dating back to the 1950s. Our story began when Howard Hunter and Gowin Mitchell formed Hunter and Mitchell to build residential homes in Huntsville, Alabama. As the need for electricians to wire these homes arose, Howard contracted with his cousins, Frank and Billy Hunter of Hunter Electrical, to wire these homes as they were built. This marked the beginning of our journey in the HVAC industry.
Over the years, our company underwent significant changes, with Billy Hunter retiring from Hunter Electric in 1978, leaving Paul Pope as the sole owner. Greg Pope, Billy Hunter's apprentice since 1972, eventually formed Hunter Mechanical in the mid-1990s, focusing on heating and cooling services. The merging of Hunter Electrical and Hunter Mechanical in 2012 solidified our commitment to providing top-notch HVAC services to residential and commercial clients.
Today, Hunter Mechanical is proud to be a team of 7 dedicated employees operating in a 5000 square foot facility, equipped with the necessary parts to keep our fleet of service vehicles ready to tackle any heating and cooling need.
