Quality Materials and Hardware

At J Wanamaker Cabinetry, we use only the best of the best when it comes to hardware and materials. Nearly all of our cabinetry is made from locally sourced and milled lumber and sheet goods. Although we are not calling ourselves a "green built" shop, we bring in raw product that easily qualifies as such as often as applicable and sensible. With all of our sheet goods being CARB 2 compliant, our statement is we care as much about the quality and safety of what goes in your home as we do for our shop and our environment. And we have chosen the hardware we use throughout our work because it is tried and true and is the best available. We could save a dollar or two here and there by using cheaper hardware, but we don't because we know that what we deliver to our customers will last for years to come.

About James Wanamaker

J Wanamaker Cabinetry is a fine custom cabinetry shop founded by owner and builder James Wanamaker, a West Seattle resident dedicated to building high-quality residential cabinetry in the greater Puget Sound area. James has been designing and building custom cabinetry since 1999. After building custom cabinetry for clients from a home woodshop, he went on to run operations for over 8 years at a well-established custom cabinet shop in the Greenwood neighborhood. In 2009, James opened J Wanamaker Cabinetry & Woodwork, now simply called J Wanamaker Cabinetry.

James takes great pride in his company's work and enjoys personally meeting all his clients, working closely with them to design and produce cabinetry to perfectly fit their vision. While maintaining unique accessibility for each client, he also enjoys being hands-on with all aspects of the project, including milling the lumber and overseeing each and every installation.
