Scissor Sisters Hair Show was born out of a dream to bring the excitement and glamour of a hair show to a salon setting. The idea began to take shape after Heather had an unforgettable experience as a model in a hair show in 2006. The platform artist, Michael O'Rourke, creator of Big Sexy Hair, styled Heather's hair on stage. After that night, Heather wondered if a hair show could be replicated in a salon setting.
The Concept
In 2014, Scissor Sisters Hair Show opened its doors in Harker Heights, Texas, owned by siblings Heather Collins and Beau Sutton. The first salon was an incubator for the culture and ideas that would shape the business. As the only salon in a bustling nightlife area, Scissor Sisters Hair Show quickly became a hotspot for clients seeking a unique experience.
The Evolution
By 2016, Beau Sutton became the sole owner, and a new location was opened in Killeen, Texas, with closer access to Fort Cavazos. This marked a significant milestone, as the salon team was able to create a boutique shopping area and personalize the salon experience. Over time, the team realized that they missed the on-stage experience and decided to take their show on the road to Austin.
The Austin Remodel
In August 2019, the construction of their new Austin salon location began, marking a new chapter in the Scissor Sisters Hair Show's history.

- Beau Sutton, the owner, has 12 years of experience in the hair industry and is known for his expertise in vivid color and balayage treatments.
- Miranda has over 20 years of experience and is proud to be part of an accepting salon like Scissor Sisters.
- Jualdo brings 18 years of experience and specializes in cuts that incorporate texture techniques and dimensional color using vivid and natural tones.
- Gopal has over 19 years of experience and is skilled in giving clients classic to wild hairstyles.
