New York Insight is a non-profit organization founded in 1997 by committed meditators in the Insight Meditation (Vipassana) tradition. Our mission is to build a sangha (community) where individuals can cultivate mindfulness, compassion, and wisdom. We strive to integrate the teachings of the Buddha into everyday life, allowing us to navigate the challenges of modern city living.

Our Services
At New York Insight, we offer a range of services designed to support our vision of cultivating mindfulness, compassion, and wisdom. These services include:

4. MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) Program: Our 8-week program is designed to reduce stress and increase resilience, utilizing mindfulness practices and Buddhist philosophy.

Our Teachers and Staff
Our team consists of experienced meditation teachers, practice leaders, and staff members who share a deep commitment to the Buddha's teachings. Many of our teachers are graduates of the Community Dharma Leaders Program (CDL) of Spirit Rock Meditation Center or similar programs. Our guides have years of teaching experience in Insight and other Buddhist traditions.

Location Issues
Many reviewers have mentioned issues with the location of this meditation center. According to Dinesh Ramdhayan and Pedro Munoz, the center has closed at this location and there is no way to contact the business outside of voicemail and email, making it an inconvenient experience. Pedro Munoz also adds that the address published on their website is not correct.
Quality of Services
Despite the location issues, many reviewers have highlighted the quality of services offered by the center. Several reviewers, including Maria Luisa Grossi, Diane Schank, Hans Derma Hansderma, Inna Z., Gaurav Chaudhari, and one Google User, have praised the center for its friendly people, great community, wonderful learning opportunities, and beautiful and clean space.
Teaching and Outreach
Some reviewers have also commented on the teaching style and outreach efforts of the center. Artist Temple suggests that the regular staff could loosen up a bit and provide more accessible daylongs for those with lower incomes. Zay'P. The IAm notes that the center offers many events, workshops, and space for spiritual development.

One reviewer, who is not a Google User, rates the center 4 stars and mentions that the space is very nice and welcoming, with opportunities to take classes or simply meditate. They recommend the center and suggest that one can quietly leave after meditation if they have other plans.
Inconsistent Ratings
Reviewer William Church rates the center 4 stars and mentions that it is a very nice meditation space in the insight tradition. However, he also suggests that those with more traditional practices may want to consider other options in NYC.
