Creating places that are enjoyable, functional, and enduring.

Architecture and Conservation, P.C. is an Oak Park / Chicago-based architectural office dedicated to providing exceptional services for residential, commercial, and institutional projects. Our team of experienced architects and technicians is committed to using green design principles to create sustainable, energy-conserving buildings. Our goal is to create places that are enjoyable, functional, and enduring.

Our Services

We offer a comprehensive range of services, starting with Preliminary Meetings to discuss your project, budget, and our capabilities. This is followed by Schematic Design, where we show rough solutions for your project. In the Design Development Phase, we prepare scaled drawings, allowing you to select building materials, appliances, and visualize how the buildings and rooms will look when complete. The Construction Document Phase involves detailed drawings and specifications submitted to the municipality for review and used by contractors to prepare a bid. We also assist in hiring the contractor, evaluating bids, and preparing the final contract. During the Construction Phase, we can provide on-site visits, inspections, and review of the contractor's billing to keep you informed of the job progress.

Our Expertise

Our Principal Architect, Christopher Goode, has a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania and has worked in renowned offices. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and a member of several professional organizations. Our Architectural Technician, John Slattery, has extensive experience in residential remodeling and is a Revit Architecture 2010 Certified Professional.

Projects

We have successfully completed various projects, including major renovations, additions, and historic preservation. Some of our notable residential projects include major renovations in Oak Park and Evanston, kitchen renovations, new coach houses, and facade renovations. Our commercial projects include tenant fit-outs and retail renovations, while our institutional projects involve library renovations.
