Fuzzy Caterpillar Preschool

At Fuzzy Caterpillar Preschool, we believe that every child is capable of transforming into a butterfly, much like the metamorphosis of a caterpillar. Our goal is to create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children feel safe, comfortable, and motivated to explore, learn, and grow. We are an art and play-based preschool that values the importance of learning through play and self-expression.

Our Philosophy

We are committed to creating an environment where play and learning are intertwined. We believe that children learn best when they are allowed to explore their surroundings, create on their own, and express themselves as individuals. Our curriculum is emergent, which means that we plan activities based on the children's interests and ideas. We observe their curiosities and incorporate them into our planning, creating a curriculum that is engaging, relevant, and meaningful to each child.

Our program fosters independence, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. We provide opportunities for children to be part of the "whole process, " from gardening and cooking to cleaning up and making choices. We believe that these experiences promote cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and creative growth and development. Our goal is to empower children, show them that their feelings and thoughts are important and valued, and help them build confidence and boost their self-esteem.

• Gardening and Cooking: We provide opportunities for children to engage in gardening and cooking activities. They learn about the life cycle of plants, the importance of nutrition, and the joy of preparing and sharing food.
• Music and Movement: We incorporate music and movement into our daily routine. We sing songs, dance, and play with musical instruments. These activities promote physical development, language development, and emotional expression.
• Literacy and Language Development: We provide a rich language environment that promotes emergent literacy skills. We read books, tell stories, and engage in conversations with children. We also provide opportunities for children to engage in writing and drawing activities.

• Year-Round Program: We are a year-round school that offers full-time and part-time schedules. Our school is open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with the exception of major holidays and a spring and winter break.
