Our Story

For 95 years, Smith Funeral Home has been a beacon of comfort and support for families in Belzoni, Mississippi, and beyond. Founded in 1925 by Mr. T. V. Johnson and his family, the funeral home has undergone several transformations over the years. In 1965, Mr. Johnny Lee Smith began working with Mr. Johnson and eventually became the owner of the business in 1977, along with his wife, Mrs. Geneva P. Smith. Under their leadership, the funeral home was renamed Smith Funeral Home & Economy Burial Association. For the past 40 years, Mr. and Mrs. Smith have dedicated themselves to serving the community, working tirelessly to ensure that every family who comes to them receives the highest level of care and compassion.
