Academy Of Preschool Learning

Welcome to the Academy of Preschool Learning, also known as the "Apple School." We are a BBB accredited preschool with a rich history dating back to 1981. Our mission is to develop the total child, academically, socially, emotionally, and physically, through a variety of exciting activities. Our founders, Joan Nehring, Nadeen Balsis, and Lois Schreiter, were mothers who had degrees in elementary education and recognized the need for early learning intervention. They believed that a child's brain develops the most between the ages of one and five, making preschool education the foundation of a child's learning journey.

Our program is designed to stimulate the learning process using Montessori equipment, which incorporates the use of the five senses. We also have a unique reading program that uses our own style of teaching phonics and early reading readiness, and a math program that utilizes hands-on concrete equipment to help children understand abstract concepts. Over the years, we have celebrated the growth and development of our students, and we continue to strive for excellence in early childhood education.

At APL, we understand that preschoolers learn best by doing and having fun. Our approach is centered around providing a safe and secure environment where children can explore, learn, and thrive. We encourage respect for oneself and others, and we aim to develop capable children who know they can sing, play, learn, make choices, think, and laugh. We invite parents to join us in the classroom whenever possible, recognizing that a team effort is essential for the success of our students.
