Our Story

We're a family-owned business, and our story began in 1998 when we escaped the stresses of big city living in New Orleans, LA, and moved to Chimney Rock. We purchased a local bed and breakfast inn and shortly thereafter, our first vacation rental home, River Rose Cottage. After five years, we decided to sell the inn and focus solely on the vacation rental home business. In 2004, we formed Distinctive Mountain Lodging, a property management company specializing in unique vacation rental homes throughout the Hickory Nut Gorge.

We don't divide our time between renting vacation homes and selling property; our sole focus is on the management of vacation rental homes.
