Inspiring Creativity, Independence, and Self-Reliance
The Sudbury Cooperative Preschool: A Nurturing Community of Learning
At the Sudbury Cooperative Preschool, we believe that children learn best in a nurturing environment that fosters creativity, independence, and self-reliance. Our program is designed to encourage children to explore, discover, and learn through play-based activities. Our dedicated educators work together to create an environment that inspires children to develop self-assurance and a love of learning.
Our Mission and Philosophy
Our mission is to provide a cooperative learning environment where parents and educators work together to support the education of young children. We believe that children learn best when they are encouraged to explore, discover, and learn at their own pace. Our program is designed to meet the unique needs of each child, promoting their cognitive, social, and emotional development.
Our Programs
We offer a range of programs tailored to the needs and abilities of children from toddlers to pre-kindergarteners. Our programs include:
- Toddler Program: Designed for children aged 1-3 years, this program focuses on social and emotional development, as well as cognitive and physical development.
- Preschool Program: For children aged 3-4 years, this program emphasizes socialization, problem-solving, and creativity.
- Pre-Kindergarten Program: Designed for children aged 4-5 years, this program builds upon the foundation established in the preschool program, with an emphasis on academic preparation for kindergarten.
Extended Day Programs
In addition to our core programs, we offer extended day programs to cater to the needs of working families. Our programs include:
- Morning Enrichment: A program designed for children aged 3-5 years that focuses on academic preparation, socialization, and creative play.
- Whole School Programs: We offer a range of programs that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development, including language, literacy, and mathematics.
Curriculum and Resources
Our curriculum is designed to meet the unique needs of each child, incorporating play-based learning, games, and activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development. We have an extensive library of resources and materials that support our curriculum and provide a wealth of learning opportunities.
Community and Involvement
At the Sudbury Cooperative Preschool, we believe that parent involvement is essential to a child's success. We encourage parents to participate in their child's education through:
- Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs): We have an active PTA that organizes events, activities, and fundraisers to support the school and its programs.
- Parent-Teacher Conferences: Regular conferences between parents and educators provide an opportunity to discuss a child's progress and goals.
- Volunteer Opportunities: We welcome volunteers to help with events, activities, and administrative tasks, fostering a sense of community and partnership.
