Welcome to Blanchard Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, a trusted and compassionate provider of funeral and cremation services in Whitman and surrounding communities. Established in 1973 by Edward Blanchard Sr. and his wife Beverly, our family-operated business has been committed to delivering "Dignified, Dedicated Service to All" for over four decades.

Our History

Edward and Beverly Blanchard purchased an antique Cape home on a former farm and started their business with a strong sense of community and commitment to serving their neighbors. The funeral home had a special significance to the Blanchards as they had strong ties to the local community. After more than 40 years of operation, Jolene, the daughter of Edward and Beverly, and her husband, Robert Tonello, ran the business for over 20 years. In 2021, the couple decided to step down, and the business was sold to co-owner Steven Leonard, a life-long resident of Hanson and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Our Facilities

Our facility is conveniently located at the rotary in Whitman, with ample off-street parking for over 75 vehicles. Our chapel is one level and ADA compliant, making it accessible for all. We have two sizable viewing rooms that can accommodate up to 80 people.

Steven Leonard, our new owner, is dedicated to continuing the Blanchards' tradition of "Dignified, Dedicated Service to All." With over 23 years of experience in the funeral industry, Steven holds licenses as a Funeral Director and Embalmer. We strive to provide exceptional service, personalized attention, and a warm and welcoming environment for our families and their loved ones during difficult times.
