Meet the Principals

Gregory D. Torchio, AIA, LEED AP, is the president of Torchio Architects. With over three decades of architectural practice and a lifetime of building experience, Greg leads the firm with a unique perspective. His commitment to green building is evident in the LEED Silver certified office building he constructed for Torchio Architects. Greg is joined by Jo Anne Baker Gebelein, AIA, who brings extensive experience in assembly buildings, particularly churches, and a knack for working with building committees.

• Visioning and Master Planning: We provide a critical part of the visioning process by establishing a roadmap for future development. Our master planning services include existing building survey, facility analysis, programming, site analysis and selection, and site planning.

• Existing Building Survey: We document existing building conditions as a starting point for subsequent work. This service provides a comprehensive understanding of the current state of a building, allowing us to make informed decisions about its future.

• Facility Analysis: We evaluate the architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical components of an existing facility in regards to functionality, condition, architectural merit, and code compliance. This service helps us identify any issues with the current facility and plan for its improvement.

• Programming: We use a systematic approach to determine the spatial needs of the anticipated users of a facility. Our programming service includes questionnaires, interviews, and a compilation of spaces or building program, which serves as the backbone of any building project.

• Site Analysis and Selection: We evaluate all aspects that may influence the development potential of an existing site or multiple prospective sites. This service includes an examination of physical features, regulatory constraints, and potential environmental impacts.

• Site Planning: Based on the information gathered in the Site Analysis and Building Program, we examine possible site development options. This service includes the creation of site plans that are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and respectful of the environment.
