Welcome to A Child Becomes Preschool, where we believe in nurturing each child's individuality, innate curiosities, and instilling a desire for lifelong learning as we prepare preschoolers for kindergarten and the world beyond. Our warm and nurturing learning environment engages students in activities that promote social and emotional, language and cognitive skill development. We are committed to providing certified teachers with strong backgrounds in early childhood education and a compassionate and sensitive approach to instilling curiosity and wonder in your children.

Our Approach

Our mission at A Child Becomes Preschool is to create a tailored, engaging, and joyful educational experience for every student. We foster curiosity, experimentation, problem-solving, questioning, and the creation of relevant and spontaneous moments that are unique to each student. Our curriculum prioritizes emotional intelligence, as research shows that children who can successfully recognize and manage their emotions become better problem solvers, build stronger relationships, and are better prepared for learning. Emotional skills such as empathy, self-awareness, and self-regulation are foundational for qualities like perseverance and resilience, which are essential in keeping students engaged in learning. Developing these skills is at the core of our curriculum in all three of our classrooms.

Thematic Instruction

Each of our classrooms utilizes thematic units to construct an integrated approach to learning, leveraging the early childhood domains of social and emotional, cognitive/math, language, and fine/gross motor skills. Brain research indicates that learning is a highly integrated process, and young children gain a deeper understanding when they make connections across multiple domains. Students achieve higher levels of learning and construct meaning through active and social engagement with their environment. Our themes enable teachers to integrate science, geography, math, music, and art into the curriculum.

Programs

We offer the following programs at A Child Becomes Preschool:

• Sunbeams: Our program for two-year-olds focuses on socialization, language development, and self-help skills.
• Caterpillars: Our program for three-year-olds builds on the foundation established in Sunbeams and introduces early literacy and math skills.
• Butterflies: Our program for four-year-olds prepares students for kindergarten, with a focus on literacy, math, and science skills.

Additionally, we offer a three-day enrichment program for three-year-olds, designed to provide an additional day of socialization and learning opportunities.

Service Projects

At A Child Becomes Preschool, we believe in giving back to our community. Inspired by Martin Luther King Jr.'s challenge to make the world a better place, we have developed simple projects that allow our students and their families to help others. We have discovered that children at our school have big hearts and are eager to make a difference.

Summer Camps

Join us for summer camp at A Child Becomes Preschool! We offer half-day and full-day camps for children ages 3-6, designed to provide a fun and engaging learning experience. Our camps are led by certified teachers with strong backgrounds in early childhood education and a passion for inspiring a love of learning.
