History, Mission & Values

Founded in 1971, The Children's Center of the Upper Valley (CCUV) has been a staple for working families in the Upper Valley for over 50 years. Our organization provides high-quality childcare for children from six weeks of age until kindergarten, Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 6 pm. We are committed to creating a health-promoting, educationally stimulating, and safe environment where the cognitive, academic, social, emotional, behavioral, and physical development of each child is nurtured.

Our mission is to support parents and serve the community by providing quality childcare in a secure, healthy environment that encourages growth and learning in all areas of child development. This commitment drives our daily operations and decisions, focusing on the whole child and fostering an inclusive atmosphere.

At CCUV, we strive to offer an inclusive and equitable environment where children from all walks of life are welcome. Our dedicated staff and Board of Directors work tirelessly to create a rich and diverse learning environment that fosters a sense of community and belonging for all.

Our Team

CCUV is proud to employ a team of well-trained, experienced, and loving childcare professionals, many of whom have been with us for over a decade. Our long-term staff members create a sense of stability, trust, and continuity for the children and families we serve. Our team understands the importance of early childhood development and the role they play in shaping the future of each child in our care.

In addition to our dedicated staff, we are grateful for the support of a knowledgeable and experienced Board of Directors. Each member offers unique insight and expertise, which allows us to make informed decisions that benefit the children, families, and community we serve.

Enrollment & Tuition

We are licensed to serve 95 children in our facility in Lebanon, NH. Our classrooms are age-appropriate and equipped with the necessary resources to accommodate the needs and interests of each child. Our facility includes almost three acres of playgrounds, offering a wide variety of options for outdoor activities and play.

CCUV tuition is based on an income-sensitive sliding fee scale, ensuring that families from various socioeconomic backgrounds can access and benefit from our programs. We understand the financial burden that quality childcare can place on families and work diligently to provide a fair and accessible fee structure. We are proud to accept childcare subsidies from the states of Vermont and New Hampshire and are grateful for the grant funding that supports our programs and services.

Programs & Curriculum

Our programs are designed specifically for the different stages of early childhood development. We offer:

  • Infant Classroom for children aged 6 weeks - 12 months: Our infant classroom provides a nurturing space for exploration and growth, focusing on the development of essential motor skills and social interactions through safe and engaging activities.
  • Toddler Classrooms for children aged 12 months - 3 years: In our toddler classrooms, children continue to develop essential skills through age-appropriate play and exploration. These programs focus on the development of social skills, peer interaction, self-regulation, and independence.
  • Preschool Classrooms for children aged 3-5 years: Our preschool classrooms build upon the foundational skills developed in our infant and toddler programs, focusing on preparing children for kindergarten. These programs emphasize social skills, peer interaction, self-regulation, and the ability to explore and learn.

Food & Nutrition

Providing balanced, child-friendly, and nutritious meals is essential for the well-being and development of each child in our care. We serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks every day, all included in the price of tuition. Our food and nutrition program aims to introduce children to a variety of healthy foods while also catering to individual preferences and dietary needs.

Health & Safety

At CCUV, we are committed to providing quality childcare in a secure, healthy environment that promotes growth and learning.
