Merriman Schmitt Architects (MSA) was established in 1996 as the local affiliate of Merriman Anderson Architects of Dallas, Texas. Over the years, MSA has grown into a successful national architecture and interiors firm, offering a wide range of design services. Our expertise includes site master planning, architecture, interior architecture/design/space planning, construction document preparation, construction administration, and 3D rendering and visualization. We provide these services to clients nationwide.

Our professionals are affiliated with various prestigious organizations such as the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), International Code Council (ICC), and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). With professionals registered in numerous states across the U.S., we have a strong presence in over 36 states.

Leadership

Steve Schmitt, AIA, NCARB, is the president of Merriman Schmitt Architects. With over 35 years of experience in design and project management, he provides hands-on leadership to the programming and design process as well as construction and technical expertise. Currently, MSA employs 5 professionals in the Charlotte office, working together to deliver exceptional results to our clients.
