Kabinett

KABINETT PDX, a sibling store to KABINETT (Melbourne, AUS), is a vintage furniture and housewares store located in Portland, Oregon. The store was founded by a local graphic designer and an Australian interior designer who share a deep love for all things old and beautiful.

Our 2000 square feet of space is meticulously filled with furniture, textiles, barware, art, and other odd outdoor/indoor goods hand-selected from Europe, Asia, the US, and everywhere in between. While our hearts and most of our collection lean towards vintage, we also stock new items such as handmade rugs, pillows, and other textiles, home fragrances, select barware, ceramics, and outdoor furniture. We are currently designing and building our own range of furniture, so stay tuned!

Our Founders

Trent DeBord and Melissa Macfarlane, our founders, worked together on a Portland interior design project in 2017. During this collaboration, they recognized a shared love of ageless pieces; furniture that wears the history of travel and has withstood the tests of time, objects that have been gently (or roughly) worn through continued, loving use. This shared passion led them to open a KABINETT in Stumptown, from which they could spread their aesthetic throughout the PNW and maybe even the rest of the U.S.

KABINETT PDX offers a variety of services for both commercial and residential interior design, sourcing, buying tours, trade wholesale, and prop hire.

• Commercial & Residential Interior Design: Melissa Macfarlane is an interior designer with a background in high-profile commercial interiors and numerous residential projects. She is excited about the prospect of working with some of the great designers and restaurateurs here in Portland. Please feel free to contact us and organize an appointment.

• Sourcing: Melissa sources for retailers both large and small in Australia. We are happy to offer that service in Portland as well. We cater to both designers and retailers. We travel to buy at least 5 times a year. If you have a large project or are a retailer looking for an edge and wholesale pricing, we offer very competitive pricing. • Buying Tours: We have launched a travel service in Australia which has its maiden voyage in November. We are taking a small group of likeminded lovers to Rajasthan where they will delight in ancient palaces, hunt for vintage furniture, eat incredible food and luxuriate in marble swimming pools. And drink cocktails, you should always find the time for a cocktail. The itinerary takes in some of the best hotels and restaurants in Rajasthan, entrance to ancient forts and lodges and some of the best shopping any tour could offer. Want to know more?
