Traditional Metal Braces
Traditional metal braces are a reliable and effective orthodontic treatment that has been used for many years. They are made of high-grade stainless steel and are affixed to the teeth using a special adhesive. The braces are connected by a thin archwire that puts pressure on the teeth, gradually moving them into the desired position.
Clear Aligners
Clear aligners are a popular alternative to traditional braces for adults and teens. They are removable, making them easy to clean and maintain. Clear aligners are made of a transparent plastic material, making them virtually invisible when worn. They work by gradually applying pressure to the teeth, moving them into the desired position.
Interceptive and Airway-Aware Orthodontics
Interceptive orthodontics is a treatment that is performed on young children who have primary (baby) teeth. The goal of this treatment is to guide the growth and development of the jaw bones and create a more favorable environment for the permanent teeth to erupt. Airway-Aware Orthodontics focuses on identifying and treating issues with the airway, such as sleep apnea, snoring, and mouth breathing.
Surgical Orthodontics
Surgical orthodontics is a treatment that is performed in conjunction with oral and maxillofacial surgery. It is typically used to correct severe cases of misalignment or jaw deformities that cannot be treated with traditional braces or aligners alone.
Palatal Expanders
A palatal expander is a specialized appliance that is used to widen the upper jaw. It is typically used in conjunction with traditional braces or aligners to create a more favorable environment for the teeth to move into the desired position.
Two-Phase Treatment
Two-phase treatment is a treatment that is performed in two separate stages. The first phase is typically performed when the patient is still young and has primary (baby) teeth. The second phase is performed once all of the permanent teeth have erupted. The goal of two-phase treatment is to create a more favorable environment for the permanent teeth to erupt and move into the desired position.
Life with Braces
Living with braces can take some getting used to, but with proper care and maintenance, it can be a relatively smooth process. It is important to maintain good oral hygiene, avoid certain foods, and wear any appliances or elastics as directed by your orthodontist.
Orthodontic Retention
Orthodontic retention is a critical part of the orthodontic treatment process. It involves wearing a retainer to maintain the position of the teeth after the braces have been removed. Retainers can be removable or fixed and should be worn as directed by your orthodontist to ensure long-lasting results.
Brushing and Flossing Retainer Instructions
Proper oral hygiene is essential when wearing braces or aligners. It is important to brush and floss regularly to prevent cavities and gum disease. Retainers should be removed and cleaned separately to ensure proper hygiene.
iTero Digital Impression System
The iTero digital impression system is a state-of-the-art technology that allows us to take precise digital impressions of your teeth and jaw. This technology eliminates the need for traditional impressions, making the process faster and more comfortable for our patients.
Emergency Care
Emergency care is available for our patients who experience an orthodontic emergency. It is important to contact our office as soon as possible so that we can schedule an appointment and provide the necessary care.
