Our History

GROH Architecture was born out of the merger between CGHJ Architects and ROJO Architecture. CGHJ Architects started in 1975 when Gerry Curts formed an architectural firm with three partners called The Design Advocates. Over the years, the firm grew and thrived, with talented architects, designers, draftsmen, administrators, and technicians passing through its doors. In 1992, Gerry invited Stephanie Gaines and Bob Hall to be his new partners, followed by Chuck a few years later, and Curts Gaines Hall Jones Architects (CGHJ) was born.

ROJO Architecture was formed in 1998 by Rob Glisson and John Saldana, who were both inspired by their time at CGHJ Architects. Both firms flourished in Tampa, building substantial bases of repeat clients. In 2022, the two firms merged to form GROH Architecture, strengthening both businesses and preparing for future growth. With the rebranding, Claudia Bernal of CGHJ Architects and Swapnali Salunke from ROJO Architecture were invited to become new principals of GROH Architecture.
