At Middletown Counseling Services, we are dedicated to making high-quality, affordable, and professional mental health services accessible to everyone in our community. Our experienced team of licensed clinical social workers and professional mental health counselors offer comprehensive mental health counseling and therapy in a relaxed and comfortable environment. We are conveniently located in a historic 100+ year-old setting in Middletown, close to Townsend, Odessa, Summit, Smyrna, Clayton, and Bear.

Our caring and fully certified staff includes specialists in a wide range of areas such as substance abuse issues, marriage counseling, ADD, bipolar and other psychiatric diagnoses, compulsive behaviors, dysfunctional relationships, sexual abuse and trauma, grief and bereavement, parenting issues, low self-esteem, self-defeating behaviors, and many other issues. We also have a licensed sex therapist on staff to help individuals establish healthy sexual boundaries and expression.

If medication is indicated, we maintain a close working relationship with local psychiatrists for both prescribing medicines and providing medication follow-up care, usually with a very short waiting period. Additionally, we offer group counseling sessions focusing on topics such as anger management, relapse prevention, women's issues, grief and loss, and many other areas.

Our experienced team includes Sandy Knauer, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor, and Sex Therapist with over 25 years of experience dealing with incest, rape, sexual abuse, and trauma. Megan Sartin, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience working with depression, anxiety, addiction, mood disorders, divorce, and families. Elaine Abrams, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience assisting adults, adolescents, children, families, and couples. Jennifer Williams, a Licensed Professional of Mental Health with experience assisting adults, adolescents, families, couples, and the LGBTQ+ community.
