Our Mission

The Southwest Indiana Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (SWIPHCC) is dedicated to the advancement of our member's success. We believe in fostering a culture of professionalism within the industry through comprehensive education and training programs. As leaders in the field, SWIPHCC strives to set the standard for excellence in plumbing, heating, and cooling services throughout Southwest Indiana.

Our Training

SWIPHCC upholds rigorous training standards for its plumbing contractor members. These individuals undergo an apprenticeship program meticulously vetted and approved by the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training, a division of the United States Department of Labor, and the Indiana Plumbing Commission. This in-depth apprenticeship program typically spans four years, equipping aspiring plumbers with the essential skills and knowledge required to become licensed journeymen. To further specialize and qualify for a contractor license, journeymen must dedicate an additional two years working under the guidance of a licensed contractor before taking the state examination.

It is crucial to note that any contracting firm serving the public must have at least one member holding a valid contractor license. This license number must be prominently displayed in their office, on all company vehicles, and in any advertising materials. Our dedication to continuous learning extends beyond initial training. Both plumbing and HVAC contractors actively participate in ongoing training sessions during regular association meetings and the annual statewide convention. This commitment to staying abreast of the latest advancements ensures our members deliver the highest quality services to their clients.
