Located in the heart of East Norriton, Pennsylvania, The Jem is a family-owned-and-operated 50's diner that has been serving the community for over 40 years. Since 1974, our restaurant has been proud to offer a unique dining experience that combines good food, friendly service, and a nostalgic atmosphere that transports our guests back to a bygone era.
Our History
The Jem has a rich history that spans over four decades. Our story begins in 1974 when Tony, our founder, opened the restaurant with a tiny 25-seat capacity. Over the years, we have expanded and evolved, but our commitment to quality food and exceptional service has remained steadfast. In 1989, we expanded to our current location, and in 2014, Tony was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease, which temporarily brought his involvement in the business to a halt. However, he has since returned to the Jem as our "Good Will Ambassador, " ensuring that our values and traditions continue to thrive.

At The Jem, we take pride in our menu, which offers a wide range of classic American dishes with a twist. From our signature breakfast items like the ELVIS Fried Egg, Meat and Cheese Sandwich and The Fonz Two Slices of Thick French Toast Stuffed with Ham, and Cheese to our extensive breakfast options like the Jem Scrambler, three eggs, sausage, potatoes, and onions all Scrambled Together, we have something for every appetite.
Catering and Private Events
In addition to our regular menu, we also offer catering services for private events, parties, and corporate functions. Our experienced team can work with you to create a customized menu that fits your needs and budget. With our state-of-the-art equipment and professional service, we can accommodate events of up to 100 guests.
Our Family
At The Jem, family is at the heart of everything we do. Our family has grown and evolved over the years, but our values and commitment to quality remain unchanged. Our children, Bo and Lisa, have grown up working alongside their parents and are now actively involved in the business. Our oldest son, Michael, has recently returned to Philadelphia after living in London for a few years. Our grandchildren, Julia, Jackson, and Lucas, are the joy of our lives and often join us at the restaurant.
