At Shields Engineering Group, Inc., we operate as Professional Engineers in 12 states, including Georgia, Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. Our main headquarters are located in Atlanta, GA, where we have been providing engineering services since 2000. Our engineering practice focuses on Commercial, Educational, and Multi-Family projects.

Our Team

Our team is comprised of experienced professionals who stay abreast of changing technology and shifting community expectations. Our president, Martin D. Shields, MCE, PE, LEED AP-NC, has over 30 years of experience in Civil, Structural, Traffic, and Forensic Engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida and a Master of Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado.

Commercial Engineering

Our Commercial Engineering Department works with architects and developers to provide construction documents, permitting, and construction administration for various projects, including office parks, healthcare facilities, industrial parks, hotels, parks, and recreation facilities.

• Mary Our Queen Church: Currently under construction in 2019. SEG provided the civil engineering documents for this century-old classic design in Norcross, GA.
• Flourish Atlanta: SEG provided the engineering design and construction documents for the parking facilities and underground stormwater detention systems.
• Hilton Garden Inn: Civil construction documents, permitting, and construction administration for the Hilton Garden Inn, located in downtown Atlanta.
• GA Tech PKT House: Civil construction documents, permitting for GA Tech's first LEED-accredited fraternity house.
• Salem Panola Library Branch: Civil construction documents, permitting, and construction administration for the LEED-certified library project in Lithonia, Georgia.
• Montaluce Estates & Winery: SEG provided the civil construction and design documents for the luxury estate development and winery covering 397 acres.

• Market District at Crabapple: Civil construction documents, permitting, and construction administration for the mix-use development in Milton, Georgia.
• Felton Townhomes: SEG provided the civil construction documents, permitting, and construction administration for the 37 townhomes in the booming neighborhood of Old Fourth Ward in Atlanta, GA.
• Edgewood Condominiums: Currently under construction in Atlanta, GA, to be completed in 2022.
• 22 Airline Street Condominiums: Currently being constructed and will be completed in 2021, located in Atlanta, GA.
• Sterling at Candler Village Senior Living Community: SEG provided the civil construction documents, permitting, and construction administration for the 170-unit senior living facility, located in Atlanta, Georgia.
