Building the future, one project at a time.

Located in the heart of the French Quarter, Hotel Villa Convento is a warm and cozy guest house that offers guests the personal service of seventh-generation New Orleanians, the Campo's. Our hotel's rich history dates back to the 1830s, when it was built as a Creole townhouse. Throughout the years, our hotel has undergone transformations, from a single-family dwelling to a rooming house, and eventually, a hotel. Today, we proudly offer 25 rooms and suites that exude the charm of Old New Orleans, the Vieux Carre.

Our History

Rumored to be the legendary House of the Rising Sun, Hotel Villa Convento is a piece of history that has been preserved and passed down through generations. From 1833 to 1872, the building was owned by Jean Baptiste Poeyfarre, who commissioned the construction of the building. Over the years, the property changed hands several times, with notable owners including Octave Voorheis and Pasquale Taromina. In 1981, the Campo family acquired the hotel and has since preserved its original charm and character.

Our Staff

Our staff is comprised of family members and long-time friends who have been dedicated to providing exceptional service to our guests. Warren Campo Jr., great-great-grandson of the first Campo who immigrated to Louisiana, is a natural-born entrepreneur who has been involved in the family's music business. His wife, Lela, is an integral part of the hotel's operations, and their son, Larry, has also contributed to the business. With our staff's dedication and expertise, we strive to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests.
