Peppermint Tree Child Development Center

As a trusted education provider, The Peppermint Tree Child Development Center has been dedicated to providing a nurturing and engaging environment for young children since 1975. Our Approach

We believe in the importance of play-based learning, which allows children to explore, discover, and learn through hands-on activities and interactive experiences.

Curriculum

We utilize The Creative Curriculum, a research-based approach that is used by the Toms River School System. This curriculum is designed to ensure that our students are prepared to continue their education in elementary school. Our program is designed to be child-centered, where children are encouraged to explore and learn through their interests and curiosity.

Enrichment Programs

Our enrichment programs are designed to stimulate and engage children's minds, providing a well-rounded educational experience. We offer various activities, including art, science, pre-reading skills, mathematics, physical fitness, literature, and music. Our program is also enhanced by regular visits from community resource people, special programs, and field trips throughout the school year.

Nutrition

At The Peppermint Tree, we place a great deal of emphasis on nutrition and healthy eating habits. We use the USDA "Choose My Plate" guidelines to educate our students about healthy eating and provide workshops and tips on healthy lunchbox and snack ideas. We encourage parents to send healthy snacks and lunches, and we ask that sugary snacks, desserts, and drinks are not sent in.

Eligibility

We cater to children aged 2-5 years old, including:

• Early Learners Preschool (2 years by October 1 of the school year)
• Preschool (3 years by October 1 of the school year)
• Pre-Kindergarten (4 years by October 1 of the school year)

We also offer before- and after-school programs and Holiday Care through 5th Grade for Toms River School District students attending Cedar Grove and East Dover Elementary.
