Empowering children to thrive in a nurturing and loving environment

At Ice Cream & Shoe Preschool, we believe that childhood should be a magical, wonder-filled experience. We've created a unique and nurturing environment where children can explore, learn, and thrive. Our nonsectarian, privately owned corporation welcomes families from all backgrounds and celebrates all cultural traditions.

Our Values

We believe that every child deserves to be treated with love, respect, and kindness. Our approach is centered around nurturing relationships, fostering a sense of belonging, and promoting emotional intelligence. We understand that discipline is not about punishment, but rather about setting clear boundaries and encouraging positive behavior. Our teachers are trained to guide and support each child, providing gentle guidance, strong encouragement, and loving support.

Our Classrooms

We offer five classrooms, specifically designed for children aged 2.5 to 5.5 years old. Each classroom is designed to meet the unique needs and developmental range of its children. Our low student-to-teacher ratio ensures that each child receives personalized attention and support. Our morning programs are tailored to the specific age group, with activities designed to promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Admissions

We take a personalized approach to admissions, starting with a visit to our school, where parents and children can get a sense of our unique community. If accepted, we require an application, followed by a review process. We consider preschool readiness, and if accepted, we require an initiation fee and deposit.

Summary of Reviews

There are mixed opinions on this topic. On one hand, some reviewers have had overwhelmingly positive experiences. On the other hand, another reviewer has had a distressing and disturbing encounter.

Positive Reviews

The two 5-star reviews praise the school, describing it as "wonderful" with a "best spirit" for children. One reviewer, Micheline Bauge Geant Meneau, mentions that every teacher is dedicated, loving, and respectful of each child's personality. The other reviewer, Marisa Hoke Fazi, has rated the school highly, although she doesn't provide specific details.

Negative Review

However, the 1-star review by Nico is shocking and disturbing. Nico and their Hispanic friends were playing basketball at the school at 5 pm, causing no disturbance. Yet, a woman (referred to as a "Karen") approached them and demand that they "go back to their country." When they refused to comply, she threatened to call border patrol and the police on them. Nico urges the school to "get your parents under control."
