About Us
Great Photo Tools is led by Dan Davenport, an award-winning business communications producer. Dan has over 30 years of experience in multi-image, multimedia, video, and print. After joining Minolta Corporation in 1971, he created the first Minolta School of Photography, which grew into The Maxxum Experience series of photo education seminars. These seminars were presented live throughout the US by a team of Minolta Technical Representatives.
Dan has a long history of creating award-winning slide, multi-image, and video programs that have earned more than 30 awards in national and international competition. His efficient, hybrid internal/external production system created powerful shows, visually exciting videos, and persuasive print that greatly enhanced Minolta's image in the marketplace.
Dan has also managed the staging of shows in many cities across the United States and Canada, as well as internationally in Acapulco, The Bahamas, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Cologne, Munich, Vienna, Glasgow, London, Monte Carlo, Osaka, and several Caribbean cruise ships.
Dan is a systems thinker, finding exciting programs can be developed using existing human and equipment resources by combining them in new and innovative ways. He has been active in professional associations, including the Audio Visual Management Association (now Communications Media Management Association), where he was a fully accredited member, Regional Director, and Technical Standards Chair. He has also served on the New Jersey State Governor's Review Commission to re-engineer media production in state government.
Dan has articles published in various professional magazines and is always looking for new ways to share his knowledge and experiences with others. He is excited to be a part of the Great Photo Tools community and looks forward to helping you achieve your photography goals.
