Our Story

Sweet Briar Child Development Center has a rich history of providing high-quality early childhood education in South Austin. Founded in 1961 as Little Dudes Daycare, we have been serving the community for over six decades. Our mission is to provide a foundation for life-long learning and school readiness through high-quality early care and education. We are proud of our long history as the first early education program in South Austin.

Our Programs

At Sweet Briar CDC, we believe that every child is unique and deserves a nurturing environment that fosters their growth and development. Our curriculum is based on Texas Rising Star standards, focusing on four areas of child development: social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical-motor development. We strive to meet each child where they are and further their development at their individual pace.

We offer programs for children from 12 months to pre-kindergarten, designed to meet the needs of each child. Our programs are designed to provide a comprehensive early childhood education that prepares children for school and beyond. Our experienced and caring teachers create a warm and welcoming environment that encourages children to explore, learn, and thrive.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to be engaging, interactive, and fun while providing a strong foundation for future learning. We use research-based curricula, such as Frog Street and Scholastic Big Day, to provide a comprehensive education that integrates across developmental domains and learning disciplines. Our teachers use Conscious Discipline to help children develop self-awareness, self-regulation, and social-emotional skills.

Enrichment Programs

In addition to our regular programs, we offer enrichment programs that provide opportunities for children to explore new interests and develop new skills. Our enrichment programs include gardening, music and movement activities, creative arts, physical activities, and more. We also offer nutritious meals and snacks, accommodating special dietary needs and preferences.

Why Choose Sweet Briar CDC?

Sweet Briar CDC is more than just a childcare center - we are a community of caring professionals dedicated to providing the highest quality early childhood education. We believe that every child deserves a nurturing environment that fosters their growth and development. We are proud of our long history of serving the South Austin community and look forward to continuing to provide exceptional early childhood education to our families.
