Our Story

Originally built as a private school in 1851, our hotel opened its doors in the early 1860s. Named by hotelier Admiral Horatio Bridge in honor of Eliza Hamilton Holly, our hotel was renowned for "the sophistication of its residents" and as "the scene of much political gossip." In 1921, a plan was set in motion to build an 11-story, 300-room hotel, designed by celebrated architect Jules Henri de Sibour. Completed in 1922, our stunningly elegant new hotel offered a luxurious experience at a reasonable price, quickly becoming a hub of social life and commerce.

Our Partners

We're proud to partner with local and national organizations to bring unique experiences to our guests. From E-Mile's electric bike rentals to skoah's luxurious bath products, our partners help us create a stay that's truly unforgettable. We also partner with Peloton to offer state-of-the-art fitness equipment, Freedom Forum's Newseum to create immersive Specialty Suites, and Ashley Blazer Biden to design socially conscious uniforms for our associates.
