At Tiny Tots and Little Tykes, Inc. Preschool & Child Care Center, our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and learning environment that fosters the social, emotional, and intellectual growth and development of each child. We believe that every child is unique and deserves a supportive and stimulating environment that encourages their growth and development.
Our History
Our journey began in 1973 when our preschool program started in Sylvia Nelson Witz's home in West Saint Paul. Over the years, we have evolved to meet the changing needs of our children and families. In 1986, we expanded and started our child care center at a second location. In 1992, we relocated to St. Croix Lutheran School, where we stayed until 2014. Today, we proudly operate our child care center at 60 East Marie Avenue, Suite 100, in West St. Paul.
Our Philosophy
Our center is non-sectarian, non-profit, tax-exempt, and open to the public. We believe that learning should be a fun and interactive experience. Our programs are designed to emphasize language, motor skills, creativity, math and science, perception, socialization, and personal growth. We strive to help our students build a positive self-image and develop good values and habits.
Facilities
Our facility is designed to provide a safe and stimulating environment for children. We have seven clean and well-maintained classrooms, each divided by age and overseen by qualified teachers. Our general-purpose room or "large muscle room" is a place for children to exercise and participate in special events. Our outdoor playground area is fenced and equipped with updated equipment certified by a Playground Safety Inspector. We also have a beautiful "green space" where children can engage in outdoor activities such as tag, potato sack races, jumping rope, and much more.
COVID-19 Response
We remain committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for our children during this pandemic. We have implemented additional safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including the installation of an air filtration system in all our classrooms. We kindly request that parents not spend more than 10 minutes in the building when dropping off and picking up their children. We also require the use of masks when entering and leaving the building. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in helping us keep our children and staff safe during this time.
