Where Childhood is a Joyful Journey
We are a non-profit, non-discriminatory preschool located in the heart of San Diego, dedicated to providing a nurturing and rich environment for children from 2 to 5 years old. Our school is built on the principles of French Montessori education, which believes in the power of individualized learning, creativity, and self-expression.
Our Philosophy
At French Montessori Preschool, we believe that every child is unique and deserves a personalized approach to learning. We provide a prepared environment that fosters independence, self-confidence, and a sense of order. Our teachers, whom we call "guides", work with each child to develop their strengths and interests, providing individualized presentations and lessons tailored to their developmental level.
Our Teaching Method
Our teaching method is based on the principles of Montessori education, which emphasizes self-directed learning, hands-on activity, and personalized attention. We provide a specially prepared environment that includes 5 Montessori work areas: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Cultural Studies, and Math. Each child works at their own pace, choosing their own activities and materials, which encourages concentration, independence, and creativity.
Creative Curriculum
In addition to our Montessori-based curriculum, we also offer a daily creative curriculum time, which provides opportunities for self-expression, dexterity, and social development. This time allows children to explore their creativity through various activities, such as arts and crafts, music, and movement. We believe that creativity is essential for children's cognitive and emotional development.
Language and Culture
We are a trilingual school, and we offer daily Spanish and French classes for our students. We believe that language learning is essential for cultural understanding and global citizenship. Our teachers are native speakers of French and Spanish, and they provide a fun and engaging language learning experience for our students.
Our Team
Our team of teachers is dedicated to providing a personalized and nurturing environment for our students. Our director, Miss Claudia, has over 10 years of experience in Montessori education and is dedicated to providing the highest quality education for our students.
Our Facilities
Our preschool is located in the heart of North Park, San Diego, and provides a safe and welcoming environment for our students. Our facilities include 6 classrooms, a playground, and a garden, which allows our children to learn about sustainability and the environment.
