Your child's home away from home

At Community Preschool, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children to learn and grow. Our mission is to support the intellectual, emotional, cognitive, social, and physical development of every child. We believe that every child is unique and special, and we strive to create an atmosphere that fosters curiosity, creativity, and self-discovery.

Our Story

Community Preschool was founded in June 2015 through the acquisition of Tutor Time of Durham NC. With a great reputation in the local community, Tutor Time had been caring for children since 1996. Our founders are committed to providing exceptional care and education to the children in our community. Our team of experienced and dedicated teachers is passionate about providing a safe, engaging, and fun environment where children can learn and thrive.

Our Philosophy

At Community Preschool, we believe that young children are active learners who learn best through play and exploration. We design our curriculum to be age-appropriate and engaging, incorporating hands-on activities, music, and movement to foster a love of learning. Our philosophy is built on the idea that children learn best when they are able to make choices, explore, and make mistakes.

Our Programs

We offer a range of programs designed for children from infancy to before and after school care. Our programs include:

  • Infants: 6 weeks to 12 months - Our infant program is designed to provide a nurturing and warm environment for our youngest students. Our experienced teachers will provide individualized attention and care to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of each child.
  • Toddlers: 12 to 24 months - Our toddler program is designed to encourage independence, exploration, and socialization. We provide a safe and engaging environment for our toddlers to learn and grow.
  • Twos: 24 to 36 months - Our two-year-old program is designed to foster independence, social skills, and learning. Our experienced teachers will provide guidance and support as our two-year-olds explore and learn.
  • Preschool: 3-4 years old - Our preschool program is designed to prepare our students for kindergarten and beyond. We provide a stimulating and engaging environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.
  • Pre-K: 4-5 years old - Our pre-kindergarten program is designed to prepare our students for kindergarten. We provide a rigorous and engaging curriculum that prepares our students for success in school and beyond.

Our Commitment to Safety

At Community Preschool, we prioritize the safety and security of our students. We have implemented a range of safety measures, including number code entry systems, CCTV monitoring, check-in/check-out computer system, classroom observation windows, staff uniforms, and visitor/solicitor/tour policy.

Our Mission

Our mission at Community Preschool is to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the intellectual, emotional, cognitive, social, and physical development of every child.
