Our Story
Lineage was born out of a passion for innovative Asian-American cuisine, crafted with love and care by our culinary extraordinaire, Chef Emmanuel Eng. Our mission is to honor our Lineage by serving exceptional food made with quality local ingredients, served with local style hospitality and aloha. We believe in supporting local farmers and purveyors, presenting the best interpretation of classic dishes that represent our heritage, and treating everyone like an esteemed guest in our own house.
Our Team
Meet our talented team of chefs, each with their own unique story and culinary expertise. Chef Emmanuel Eng, our Executive Chef, brings creativity and family traditions to the restaurant. Chef Nelson Simpliciano, our Sous Chef, has been part of the Lineage culinary team since its opening in October 2018. Chef Christopher D'Agostino, our Sous Chef, brings a positive attitude and leadership skills to the kitchen. And our Bar Manager, April Talia Leslie, is an avid forager of local ingredients, creating innovative cocktails that integrate plants with medicinal properties.

Ambience and Service
The atmosphere at Lineage is modern and clean, with a covered lanai outdoor seating area that's a great spot to enjoy a meal. However, the restaurant's location in the Shops At Wailea can make it feel like you're sitting in an alley. The service was friendly, with one server, Jordan, being described as happy-go-lucky. However, another reviewer mentioned that the service was more visually attentive rather than verbally engaging.
Food and Drink
The menu at Lineage features a range of ethnic cuisines, including Korean, Filipino, Chinese, and Hawaiian dishes. The cocktail menu is impressive, with drinks like the Maneki-Neko and Pink Palaka being highly recommended. The food menu offers a variety of options, including Chicharon, Kim Chee Dip, Pipikaula, and Hoppin' Juan's, which was a standout dish for one reviewer. However, some dishes were deemed overpriced, and the Squid Luau was too sweet for one reviewer's taste. The dessert menu was a letdown, with the Seasonal Sherbet not living up to its expectations.
Mixed Reviews
While one reviewer had a generally positive experience at Lineage, another reviewer was thoroughly disappointed. The latter mentioned that the dishes failed to deliver, with the Dragonfly drink being mediocre and the Daily Double mocktail/cocktail being a letdown. The Birds Nest dish was likened to an overpriced American chop suey, and the Garlic Szechuan Noodles were undercooked and lacking in flavor.
