Daniel Joseph Chenin, Ltd. is an integrated architecture and interiors studio specializing in the design of fully conceptualized residential, commercial, and hospitality environments. Founded in 2014, our philosophy is rooted in the idea that designs should be immersive and activate all senses to evoke a range of emotions. We view each project as an opportunity to create an experience with a story arc and a unique vocabulary used to set the visual stage and create a sense of place.

Our Philosophy

At Daniel Joseph Chenin, Ltd., we believe that design should be an all-encompassing experience, engaging all five senses and eliciting a range of emotions. We approach each project as an opportunity to craft a narrative, using a unique visual language to create a sense of place and immerse the occupant in the space. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that architecture and interior design are inextricably linked, and that the sequencing of spaces and their relationship to one another is of utmost importance.

Our Approach

Our approach breaks down a project into a series of layers, considering how furniture will be arranged and how the architecture wraps those spaces with biophilic voids to allow the exterior landscape to permeate into the interior environment. We take on a limited number of commissions at a time, allowing us to dedicate the necessary time and resources to each project and engage our clients in the design process. Each project begins as a study into our clients' objectives, without a preconceived notion or prototypical style. We work closely with our clients to develop a complete understanding of their lifestyle, habits, and routines, balancing their functional and aesthetic priorities with an integrated and curated approach that consolidates the creative vision for all architectural, interior, and exterior elements.

Daniel Joseph Chenin: Founder and Principal

As a native Nevadan, Daniel Joseph Chenin, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP has a deep affinity for the American Southwest - its powerful landscapes, its vivid colors, and its various ecological challenges. For Chenin, the environment provides both scarcity and abundance - a perennial dearth of water as well as seemingly limitless sunshine. A proponent of environmentally sensitive design, Daniel's approach to sustainability is rooted in the environmental realities of the American Southwest. For him, green design is about form, shape, and order to harness natural elements of desert ecosystems. Daniel's approach to design is multi-dimensional, comprising both architecture and interior design. Prior to founding Daniel Joseph Chenin, Ltd., he was the design director at an ID100 ranked interior design firm with top-tier projects throughout the world. He worked on international resort properties for premier brands such as Four Seasons, Auberge Resorts and Wynn Resorts. A passionate supporter of architecture students and emerging professionals, Daniel has for two decades been active in Nevada educational and organizational circles. For a decade he served as an adjunct professor at his alma mater, UNLV, teaching a diverse range of design courses in both architecture and interior design. Daniel graduated first in his class from the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) and was awarded the prestigious Fielden Medal for Academic Excellence in Architecture and the College of Fine Arts' Most Outstanding Graduate Scholarship. He holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master's in Architecture from the school. Daniel is a licensed architect in multiple states, certified by the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards (NCARB), and an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Daniel's accolades include AIA Nevada Silver Medal in 2021, AIA Western Mountain Region (WMR) Young Architect Award in 2014, the AIA Nevada Young Architect Award in 2013, and the AIA

National Young Architects Award in 2012.
