Our Story

At Import Specialty Service, we're a family-owned and operated auto repair shop that's been serving the Nashville community since 1994. Our founder, Rod Kruse, started his automotive journey at the age of 14, working under his father's mentorship at Elmer's Automotive Repair. After his father's passing, Rod continued to hone his skills, becoming one of the top 11 Volvo technicians in the USA and Canada. In 1985, Rod and his family moved to Nashville, where he eventually opened Import Specialty Service in 1992.

Our narrow focus on European and Asian makes allows us to deliver accuracy and expertise that our customers deserve. We strive to make your visit to our shop as convenient as possible, offering a clean waiting area with complimentary Wi-Fi, coffee, snacks, and a pet-friendly environment. We're also dedicated to being environmentally responsible, operating a recycling green shop and using solar panels to reduce our carbon footprint.
