For over 80 years, Camp Green Cove has been a premier summer camp for girls, offering a unique and traditional summer camp experience. Our mission is to provide a fun and adventurous experience that fosters growth, friendship, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.
Our Philosophy
At Camp Green Cove, we believe that young people need both roots and wings. We believe that children need to feel grounded and stable, while also being encouraged to explore and take risks. We strive to create an environment that is both nurturing and challenging, where campers can grow and develop their skills and confidence.
Our Program
Our program is designed to be fun and adventurous, with a focus on outdoor activities such as horseback riding, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, mountain biking, and rock climbing. We offer a variety of activities to ensure that every camper has the opportunity to try new things and progress at their own pace. Our experienced staff lead and teach these activities, emphasizing safety, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Wilderness Trips
One of the unique aspects of our program is our wilderness trips. These trips allow campers to spend part of their session exploring the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. Whether it's a beginner trip or an advanced trip, every camper has the opportunity to experience the joy of hiking, camping, and exploring the great outdoors.
Safety
At Camp Green Cove, safety is our top priority. Our staff are trained in first aid and wilderness first aid, and we have a comprehensive safety plan in place in case of an emergency.
Daily Schedule
Our daily schedule is designed to be flexible, with campers having a say in what they do and when. We believe that this balance of structure and freedom allows campers to feel a sense of freedom and autonomy.
Cabin Living
Our cabin living program is designed to foster community and teamwork. Campers live in cabins with their cabinmates and counselor, and participate in activities that promote teamwork and cooperation.

Our leadership team is comprised of experienced and trained professionals who are dedicated to creating a positive and supportive environment for our campers. Our directors, counselors, and instructors are all dedicated to providing a fun and adventurous experience for our campers.
