About Us
Ember Acupuncture was founded by Melissa Hammesfahr, a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist who has been practicing in the East Bay for over a decade. Melissa became interested in traditional Chinese medicine after witnessing the profound impact that acupuncture had on two close friends who were struggling with chronic health issues. This encounter sparked her desire to learn more about the practice and its potential to alleviate suffering and promote well-being.

Fees and Insurance
We accept a variety of payment options, including cash, checks, and all major credit cards. We also accept FSA and HSA accounts. For patients with insurance coverage, we can provide a receipt for reimbursement. Please note that we are an out-of-network provider, and insurance coverage may vary depending on your specific plan.
About Melissa Hammesfahr
Melissa Hammesfahr is the owner and lead practitioner at Ember Acupuncture. She received her Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the American College of TCM in San Francisco, where she focused on Auricular Acupuncture, Extraordinary Meridian Treatments, and Herbal Medicine. Melissa is licensed in the state of California and nationally certified as a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

Our practice is located in the heart of Albany, California, and is conveniently accessible by car or public transportation. We have a cozy and welcoming waiting area and treatment room, and our practitioners are always happy to answer any questions you may have.
Gift Certificates
We offer gift certificates that can be purchased in person or online. Our gift certificates make a thoughtful and unique gift for friends, family, or coworkers.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, and we are happy to work with our patients to reschedule appointments. However, we do require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations to avoid a missed appointment fee.
