Preparing and Caring for Children of All Nations
Our Story
At Embassy Row Child Development Center (ERCDC), we pride ourselves on providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children from around the world to grow and thrive. Our journey began in 2009, when Embassy Church recognized the pressing need for preschool education in Northwest DC. After researching ways to meet this need, Embassy Church prepared their facility to house the legendary St. Albans Early Childhood Center until 2016. Having learned valuable lessons from this experience, Embassy Church transformed their preschool space to create the new home of ERCDC. Since February 2017, we have been dedicated to providing the highest quality care and education to preschool children in an international and multicultural environment.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide the highest quality care and education for preschool children in an international and multicultural environment, by professional educators who are inspired, guided, and enabled by Christian love. We achieve this mission by embracing a set of values that guide our daily operations.
Our Values
- Development: We believe in providing an age-appropriate curriculum and numerous extra-curricular learning experiences in faith, art, music, language, and recreation. This allows children to develop academically and socially in a fun and engaging environment.
- Diversity: We celebrate the diversity of nationalities, cultures, faiths, and languages, as well as economic and social experiences. This helps children understand and appreciate their individuality and the richness of human experience.
- Unity: We believe that despite our differences, we are united by our common humanity. We encourage children to appreciate what brings us together as human beings - family, friendships, growth, and learning.
- Creativity: We foster a loving and affirming environment that encourages creative expression in lessons, story-telling, artistry, and songs.
- Compassion: We emphasize the importance of kindness, loving expressions, and support for one another.
- Communication: We prioritize open, honest, and constructive communication between directors, teachers, parents, and students.
