Our Locations

Puthoff Insurance Agency has three convenient locations throughout South Dakota, in Watertown, Hartford, and Howard. Our Watertown branch is located at 1608 9th Ave SW, while our Hartford branch is at 101 E 2nd St. Our Howard location, known as the DBA Insurance Store, is located at 211 South Main. Each of our locations is staffed with knowledgeable and experienced agents who are ready to help you with all of your insurance needs.

Our Story

Puthoff Insurance Agency was started in 1995 by long-time employees, Jim Knudson and Dave Puthoff. In 2019, Jim and Dave formed Ag Underwriters LLC and purchased the agency, continuing to provide the same exceptional customer service that the agency has been known for. Our team of agents and staff have many years of experience and education in insurance, and we pride ourselves on having our agents trained to handle both personal and commercial insurance, so you don't have to deal with multiple agents.
