Henry Architects is a full-service architectural firm with over 60 years of combined experience in the diverse fields of architecture, planning, interiors, and sustainable design. We bring regional and sustainable design to residential projects, municipal facilities, commercial spaces, and educational institutions. Our team is passionate about the design, function, and long-term viability of buildings, their positive effect on people and the environment, and about creating a 'sense of place' in each of our projects. Practical sustainability and energy-conscious design are at the forefront of our work. We are uniquely situated to address the specific needs of the Town and the Taos community, where we live and work.

Our Team

Alix Henry, the owner of Henry Architects, has been involved with grant writing and research in what she describes as architectural "thermal aesthetics." She received a certificate for exceptional achievement for her Master's Thesis and was a part of the Tao Sigma Delta Honor Society in Architecture and the Allied Arts. Alix is a licensed architect in the state of New Mexico with 29 years of architectural design and construction experience, focusing on sustainable design. David Henry brings a broad range of professional skills to each project, stemming from his wide interest in the process of design and construction. He has over 35 years of experience in the field of architecture and focuses on overall project management from Preliminary Design through Construction Administration and Project Closeout.

Education and Professional Affiliations

Alix Henry holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Washington University. She is registered as an architect in New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas. David Henry holds a Master of Architecture degree from Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of New Mexico. He is registered as an architect in New Mexico, Colorado, and Washington State. Both Alix and David are members of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
