The year was 1963. That same year AT&T introduced the touch tone phone, the United States introduced the zipcode system, and WWII pilot Edward Walker introduced the Lava Lamp. And it was also the year a young man named Richard Welton realized his dream of owning his own business. After purchasing Kaechele Heating & Cooling from his partner Karl Kaechele, Richard changed the name of the business to Welton's Heating & Cooling. Under his adept leadership Richard quickly secured dealer accreditation from Lennox Industries and thus laid the foundation for what has become Barry County's premier go to source for heating and cooling systems, supplies and services. Now three generations of experience later, son Doug Welton together with Doug's sons Chad and David, oversee Welton's day-to-day operations.
