One of the reasons why pet owners call Northside their veterinarian is because our team spends the time. Life has become so busy; the last thing you need is to be rushed through the veterinarian like another nameless number. Our pledge is that we will be there as your trusted pet's doctor whenever you need us, spending the time you need to help make things as simple for you and your pet as possible.

Our History

Northside Veterinary Clinic originally opened its doors in 1958. Since that time, the clinic has served a wide variety of animals before being purchased by our present owner, Dr. Randy Thompson, in 1999. While some things have certainly changed over the years, the one thing that has remained constant is our dedication and commitment to providing the best available veterinary healthcare services to our patients while also offering superior service to our valued clients.

Our Services

We are a full service animal healthcare facility providing a wide range of comprehensive veterinary services, from wellness care and vaccinations to advanced diagnostics, to boarding, grooming and much, much more. Our specialties include dentistry, laser surgery, and laser therapy. At Northside Veterinary Clinic, your pet's comfort, health, and safety are our top priorities, and we strive to provide expert care, delivered with personal attention and compassion. By employing the latest technology available, such as surgical and therapeutic lasers, we can ensure that our treatments are both effective and less painful than traditional methods.

Community Involvement

In addition to our love of animals big and small, we also feel passionate about the importance of supporting our local communities. In recent years, Northside has supported organizations such as the Taylorville Food Pantry, City of Taylorville K-9 Unit, Christian County K-9 Unit, United Way, Loving Arms, Kemmerer Village Walk-a-Thon, Christian County Farm Bureau, Taylorville Park, Relay for Life, Shadow House, and the Christian County 4-H Auction.

Our Team

At Northside Veterinary Clinic, we have a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about providing top-quality care for your pets. Our team includes Dr. Randy Thompson, Dr. Shelby Norville, Rick, Anne, Jessi, Rossi, Haley, Lyndsey, and Poppins Thompson, our CED (Chief Executive Dog).

Our Hours and Location

Northside Veterinary Clinic is conveniently located at 1100 N. Webster St. Taylorville, IL 62568. Our clinic is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 AM to 5 PM and is closed on Saturday and Sunday. For directions, please call us at (217) 824-3202.
