In partnership with parents to make learning FUN!
Creative Co-op Preschool is a state-of-the-art educational facility located in Clarkston, Michigan, that offers a unique learning environment for children. Our mission is to provide a nurturing and creative space where children can grow, learn, and have fun in partnership with their parents.
Our school was established in 1958 by a group of local mothers who wanted to create a space where their children could learn and play together. Over the years, our school has grown and evolved, but our core values have remained the same: to provide a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment where children can develop their skills and abilities.
Our Philosophy
At Creative Co-op Preschool, we believe that every child is unique and special. We understand that each child has their own learning style and pace, and we strive to provide a curriculum that caters to their individual needs. Our philosophy emphasizes the importance of self-esteem in a child's healthy development, recognizing the value of learning through play.
We believe that parents play a crucial role in their child's education, and we encourage them to be actively involved in our school. Our co-op model allows parents to volunteer in the classroom on a monthly basis, giving them the opportunity to see their child learn and grow firsthand. Together, we shape the direction and policies of our school with the guidance of our qualified teachers.
Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to provide a well-rounded education that prepares children for their future academic endeavors. We offer a variety of activities and learning experiences that cater to different learning styles and abilities.
Play is an essential part of our curriculum. We believe that play helps children develop their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills. Our school offers various play areas, including a dress-up center, train table, play kitchen, water table, play-doh table, sandbox, block area, and quiet area for reading and puzzles.
In addition to play, we also offer learning activities that teach specific skills such as counting, writing, listening, and more. These activities are designed to be fun and engaging, encouraging children to learn and explore new concepts.
We also believe in the importance of outdoor play and physical activity. Our school has a wonderful playground that we utilize every day, weather permitting. If it's too cold or raining, we'll do a fun group activity in the classroom instead.
Field Trips
We understand the value of hands-on learning experiences outside of the classroom. That's why we organize monthly field trips for our students. These trips are optional and provide children with the opportunity to explore new places, learn new things, and have fun with their friends. Some of our past field trips have included visits to a pumpkin patch, roller skating lessons, ceramic painting, and a pizza-making experience at a local restaurant.
Our Teachers
Our teachers are dedicated, experienced, and passionate about providing a high-quality education to our students. They are trained to create a supportive and stimulating environment that encourages children to learn and grow. Our teachers work closely with parents to ensure that every child receives the individualized attention and care they need.
Parental Responsibilities
As a co-op preschool, we rely on the active involvement of our parents. We believe that parents play a vital role in their child's education, and we encourage them to participate in various aspects of our school. This includes volunteering in the classroom, helping with field trips, attending parent meetings, and participating in decision-making processes.
