Westchester Meditation Center

Westchester Meditation Center (WMC), formerly known as Westchester Buddhist Center (WBC), was formed in 2009 with the mission to share the teachings and meditation practices transmitted by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche with friends and neighbors in Westchester County, New York. Our center is committed to making our programs accessible to all, offering a $10 registration rate for those with limited income, students, and individuals under 30 years old.

Our Programs

We offer a variety of programs designed to help individuals deepen their understanding and practice of meditation. Our Meditation Gatherings are open to all, and include weekly sessions such as Open House Meditation Sundays, Community Meditation Tuesdays, and Morning Meditation Weekdays. We also host special events like the One-Day Meditation Workshop and courses like Mindfulness & Awareness: The Path of Meditation. Additionally, our Rime Shedra NYC offers online sessions led by Derek Kolleeny, focusing on advanced Buddhist texts.

Courses and Discussion Groups

Our courses and discussion groups are designed to cater to different interests and levels of understanding. For instance, our Winter 2024 Course on Mindfulness & Awareness explores the path of meditation, while the Lojong Mind Training course delves into the principles of mind training. We also have a monthly discussion group focused on Aging for Beginners, which is conducted online.

We provide a range of resources and archives for those who wish to further their practice or learn more about our teachings.
