The Morluski's Name: A Tribute to Our Heritage

Our name, Morluski's, is a nod to the Polish community's initial difficulty in pronouncing the last name of our founder's father-in-law, Domenico Morlacci. When Domenico first arrived in Kaisertown with his Italian friend, the Polish community members were confused. They couldn't pronounce his last name, and so, Domenico jokingly told them it was Morluski. The name stuck, and Domenico became a beloved member of the community. We honor his memory by naming our restaurant in his spirit, celebrating the infectious laughter, work ethic, and love of family, friends, and food that he embodied.

That's why we make a concerted effort to buy local whenever possible, even if it costs a little more.
