Bainbridge Cooperative Nursery School (BCNS) provides a balanced environment of structured learning and exploratory play for children between the ages of three and five, fostering growth and development through art and play on Bainbridge Island since 1963. With a focus on social, emotional, cognitive, linguistic, and physical development, our program is designed to encourage curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.

Island Cooperative Preschool is a parent-run nonprofit that has been dedicated to providing an inspiring place for young children and caregivers to thrive since 1971. We focus on nurturing the development of the whole child through play, creativity, and outdoor adventures. Our nature-based curriculum follows the seasons and incorporates our beautiful outdoor play space as well as natural settings around the island. As a co-op, we value our strong community of families and provide support with monthly parent education classes and coaching. Under the experienced guidance of teacher Ellen Carleson, we participate in our child's classroom as Teaching Parents, helping them develop their curiosity, creativity, and confidence in a safe and stimulating environment.
