Patrick Hassett, S.E., Principal, has been involved in steel construction engineering since 1987 working with the leading west coast fabricator/erector, The Herrick Corporation, as a Project Engineer and Chief Engineer on many major projects. He has hands-on experience in value engineering, connection design, heavy weldments, temporary framing, and systems design for construction of complex and unusual projects. A graduate of U.C. Berkeley BS, and MS program, Pat is registered in California as a Civil and Structural Engineer, as well as in Missouri, Nevada, and Illinois. Pat also has served on AISC Committee on Specifications and Seismic Design Provisions, and as Chairman of the SSEC (Structural Steel Education Council), the publishers of Steel Tips. Additionally, he is a member of ASCE and SEAONC.
