Our California-based sales and engineering team works closely with our two manufacturing operations in Taiwan and mainland China to design and manufacture molds to the highest U.S. standards with an emphasis on mechanical reliability and ease of processing. We utilize world-class tool steels and U.S. mold components to ensure that our molds meet the highest quality standards. Our team of experienced engineers and program managers have a proven track record of delivering large programs with over 100 molds, all on time and production ready.

Our Services

We specialize in medium to large, technically difficult molds that must be built quickly and accurately from customer's solid model databases. Our services include program management, engineering, data exchange, materials, manufacturing, mold testing, and showroom. Whether you're contracting for one mold or a program of a hundred tools, we provide day-to-day liaison to address technical issues, manage engineering changes, and provide a high level of confidence that the program is on schedule and the parts will meet specifications.

Our program managers in California provide day-to-day communications, including detailed weekly progress charts and digital photos of work-in-progress, ensuring that our customers are always informed and up-to-date on the status of their project. Our senior engineers in California work closely with our China-based detailers to generate mold designs to the highest U.S. standards, using Pro Engineer as our primary 3-D modeling software.

We also provide data exchange services, accepting a range of database formats, including 3-D Pro Engineer, STEP, Parasolid, IGES, and 2-D AutoCAD. Our manufacturing methods embody an optimum combination of traditional skilled craftsmen and the most up-to-date, computer-driven machinery, ensuring that our molds are produced rapidly and to the highest quality standards.

Finally, our molds are thoroughly tested by our technicians on modern, properly sized, presses simulating actual production conditions. We provide a detailed Processing Report and a video to the customer during mold testing to verify that the mold was production ready before shipment.

Our History

PacMold started life in 1979 as the tooling division of a large custom molder. In 1988, we spun off to become an independent mold engineering and manufacturing company with the goal of creating a global alternative to domestic high prices and long lead-times. We expanded our capacity in 2002 with the addition of an operation in Ninghai, China. Today, we are proud to be a leading provider of high-quality molds to large and small O.E.M.s and custom molders nationwide.
